nations Gun show observation
Went to the local gun show yesterday, dubbed "The Nations Gun show. It is located just outside of washington DC...in Chatilly Va.
12.00 entrance fee, and EVERYTHING ( except for some single action repo's ) was exspensive! The place was huge, and packed. Lots of black rifles, almost all were marked on the boxes "not for sale in california". Lots of 223, 7.62X39 and 308 rifles, ammo for these firearms was a might harder to find. Good selection overall. |

I made an observation, which honestly was quite chilling; I felt that 90% of the people at the gun show were future looters if TSHTF. Not just on looks alone, but just hearing passing conversations and general observations. It also made me think how much of people's preps center just on guns and not food and supplies. Not just bad people are looters; unprepared good people could just as easily be looters when the choice is between starving and looting (unfortunately well armed looters based on those at the gun show today). Not to rant, but as I walked out the door I noticed a lot of people watching "The Deadliest Catch" on The Discovery Channel in the cafeteria (like mouths open, starring at the TV type watching). Made me think of the stories of Rome where all types of people were entertained and distracted from reality. Some shows are made for gun nuts, some shows are made for women, some for liberals, religious, etc. People of all walks are given other things to occupy their minds other than reality. Any ways, not trying to take this thread off subject but I was at a gun show today helping a friend find something specific and all of this came to mind as I carried my sleeping three year old while walking the aisles. This is just further conformation of something that I constanly harp about: IN THE NEXT 19-22 MONTHS ALL THIS PIE IN SKY SLEEP WALKING SHEEP IS GONNA GO THE WAY OF THE DO DO BIRD :THE LAW OF THE JUNGLE IS COMING TO THIS COUNTRY. We will see what people will do when they say....I HAD NO OTHER CHOICE. That is why it is imperative other than you inner circle and those who want to learn YOU KEEP YOUR PIE HOLE SHUT!! When the desperation comes NEWS WILL TRAVEL AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT WHO WAS PREPARED. More people will remeber you than you care to imagine. Get your preps but make sure you are ARMED TO FRICKEN TEETH WITH HOLLOWPOINTS... When it starts to unravel WE WONT GET A SECOND CHANCE TO MAKE IT RIGHT better to have too much of it than a box short. I hope you can take some ribbing T A.
You know that old joke how you add "in bed" onto the little saying you find in your fortune cookie...like "you are well liked by all" ...."in bed". Well, every time I read one of TA's posts I always add "WITH HOLLOWPOINTS" to the end. :D Carry on. |

Re: nations Gun show observation
Ive noticed a big trend in gun shows from across the nations. The primarily seem to consist of nothing but black plastic as wel call it.
Not even any good deals anymore, just rows and rows of black plastic for sale. |

Re: nations Gun show observation
I can feel everyones pain. That Bersa .380 my wife bought was probably the best deal of the Ft. Lauderdale gun show 2 weeks back.
Yeah, gun shows aren't the best places to find deals anymore. Just a lot of people. |

Re: nations Gun show observation
It is funny you all mentioned the Bersa .380, I literally just looked at a friend's conceal carry piece and it was a Bersa .380. Naturally, I thought of this thread. It seemed like a pretty good gun though I told him we need to go hit the range and make sure it works (I don't think he has shot it, UHG!).

Re: nations Gun show observation
I got tired of the "gun show shuffle" years ago. You know what I'm talking about if you are in the least paying attention to the way people just meander up one row and down the other at a slow pace, just looking, maybe stopping for an instance and blocking you behind them. It's just not worth my time and getting aggravated is the only thing that I ever seem to get. I havn't been to one in a long time and they are in my town at least every other month.
If I want a deal the gun show is the last place I'm going to inquire. I can get whatever I want from off the internet in the comfort of my house, for the most part. |

Not to get off topic much, but I let Costco go because I felt that they overpriced their memberships. I was a member for many years. Also, human nature and getting something for free are the motivations behind all the congestion at the aisle food stands. I get your point though for sure. |

Do you know...... that shops actually plan the layout the entire store..... JUST so they can make that happen??? Shopping centers know...... if you wander from isle to isle.... the odds are VERY high that you will pick up somthing that you were NOT going to get.... They know...... If you dont have a plan...... you are easily swayed to "this" special or "that" special only to get home AND FORGET TO BUY WHAT YOU WANTED IN THE FIRST PLACE. Moral of the story: YOU HAVE GOT TO MAKE IT YOUR BUSINESS TO DIRECT THE FOCUS OF YOUR MIND.....BECAUSE THERE IS NO SHORTAGE OF PEOPLE THAT WILL DO IT FOR YOU. T |

Unfortunately, as I mentioned on my previous post there typically is a large percentage of white/black trash attending these shows. Dave |
